Phurit Pookayaporn

mμ Space and Advanced Technology Co., Ltd.

Satellite Production Lead

Phurit graduated from Chulalongkorn University majored in Aerospace Engineering with a mission to enable commercial space industry in Thailand. Having been to the Space Robotics Laboratory (Tohoku University), he leverages this great opportunity helping to build the Thai space industry. Being the satellite production lead at mu Space and Advanced Technology (mu Space), Phurit leads on the development and constellation-size production of next-generation high-power small satellites. mu Space, founded by James Yenbamroong, is a Thai space startup with the main mission of improving the quality of life with a vertically-integrated approach in mind. He, with mu Space, launched suborbital experiments on Blue Origin’s New Shepards in 2020. Phurit sets a necessary foundation for spacecraft production including power, communication, data, and propulsion systems. mu Space’s satellite team is now capable of designing and producing small satellites with low-cost, low-lead-time, and high-performance. Phurit is also working with a wide range of engineering disciplines to excel mu Space technology capabilities; power storage devices, machine-learning-based satellite control software, and advanced alloy and coating materials.
