Graham Peters is MD Government Services at Arqit, a cyber security business which supplies a unique quantum encryption Platform-as-a-Service called QuantumCloud™ which makes the communications links of any networked device secure against current and future forms of attack – even from a quantum computer. He is leading the development of the Federated Quantum System with support from the UK Space Agency and international partners, which enables a Private Instance of QuantumCloud™ to be provided to customers that require control of their cryptographic infrastructure. Graham served as Chairman of the UKspace Trade Association until June 2020 and is its current Treasurer. He helped secure record UK funding contributions into the European Space Agency in 2019; creation of a National Space Council and in March 2020 funding for a new National Space Programme. Since April 2018 he has been the non-executive chair of the Space Growth Partnership Board which is driving a unified approach towards space across government, industry and academia. Before Arqit he spent 14 years at Avanti Communications as part of the executive team which built a $US1bn satellite fleet delivering high throughput broadband services. He was Managing Director of Avanti’s Government business responsible for delivery of Avanti’s services to the government sector across EMEA. He was the co-founder of the UK Department for International Development’s largest e-learning initiative, iMlango, in Kenya. He holds a BSc in Physics from London University and has spent over 30 years in the space industry. His career has included technical, commercial and general management positions at British Aerospace, Vega Group, IGG Component Technology and Avanti. Between them these roles have provided experience in research and development, growing businesses and exporting around the world in the domains of satellite manufacturing and services.
